David Is The Captain of England

David has been named England captain for the friendly match against Trinidad and Tobago tomorrow. He had previously captained the the side 58 times between 2000 and 2006, but handed over the captaincy after the 2006 World Cup finals. David has been named in all but one of Fabio Capello's squads since the Italian took over as head coach and has started each match, including winning his 100th cap against France.
The game will mark David's 102nd cap for England and his 59th match as captain.

Hi everybody,

Well, it was great to get two wins as it’s important to get some consistency under our belts. Some of the players, myself included, will be on international duty this week, so we can all leave in great confidence but it’s important the team continue the good form going into the MLS game against Toronto this weekend. From all accounts, we played well last night against Colorado in the cup and we’re unlucky to lose. Our priority remains the MLS Championship.

The game against Kansas City Wizards was one of the best I’ve played in the MLS. They’re the best team we’ve faced this season, so to come back from a goal down and win 3-1 gave everyone a real lift, as we’ve not come from behind before. It’s brilliant that our two strikers Edson and Landon are both scoring goals and for me, personally, I really enjoyed my goal at the end of the match.

I’m currently with England, training ahead of the friendly matches against the USA and Trinidad & Tobago. If I play against the US, it will be interesting to be in the opposing team against the likes of Landon Donovan. Hopefully he will reach 100 caps, it would be an incredible achievement for a good player and man. Rio Ferdinand and the rest of the Manchester United players in the England squad will be on a massive high this week after winning the Champions League, so congratulations to them. As a United fan I watched the game, and I was absolutely delighted for them, but I did feel for John Terry. I’ve taken a few penalties myself, so I know how it feels when you miss one, especially in such an important game.

It’s always great to meet up with the England lads though, and I’m really looking forward to, hopefully, playing some part at Wembley tonight and in the game against Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday.

Today England take on the USA at Wembley in an international friendly. The game time is 3.05PM ET.

Television: The game will be broadcast in USA on ESPN Classic. I apologise wholeheartedly that I don't yet know the UK TV line-up.

Goal of the Game!

Wow.....this was one of their best games!!!!! I think that Cronin(GK) did a very good job.
Wow! that was a wonderful ball what Beck's did at the end of the game!!!!! not even from half line.

I guess we could compare this to the game that Beckham did when he was young......but he had a golie....so lets see....

But I am glad that the golie from the game they played yesterday came up for the corner.....those are ALWAYS risky chances that somethimes can mess up

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all well.

We played our first match of the season against a team from the Eastern Conference on Saturday, but unfortunately didn’t get the result we were hoping for in the home game against Red Bull New York. Without looking for excuses, I think it was just one of those nights. I was trying to get forward as much as possible and play that killer pass and I was probably too high up the pitch on occasion, but I still feel we did create chances. Obviously, in other games we’ve created more, but on the night we couldn’t find ways to get around the Red Bulls.
Last night the Galaxy played an exhibition game against the Vancouver Whitecaps in Canada. It was great to visit the country again and play in a game, which despite the 2-1 loss, was played in the right spirit and helped us work on a few things for when we play our next MLS game at the weekend. It was also great to see so many fans come out to watch the game. The fans really got the teams going and, of course, every player loves playing in front of a large crowd of people. It was a good performance from both teams, so hopefully the fans went home happy.

Loss

Becks' lost his game yesterday!!! 2 to 1 it is soo hard to find out who is going to win or lose! it is never the same!!! like the best team will lose to the worst team!!!! i think it is pretty strange.
but...the next galaxy game will be this sunday against dallas fc. it will be at 3

Sadely, the Red Bulls took a 2-1 lead! :'(
I was able to watch half of it on but unfortuntly, i decided to turn it off during the half time break becuase i was to tired!
